fun with aunt and uncle

I am having fun this weekend. Yesterday we went to Lili and Cyrus' house for dinner plus we watched the football game. At first I thought Dad and Cyrus were mad because they were yelling a lot! But it turns out they were just excited. Lili made some really good sausages and I had fun just hanging out, walking around, swinging my arms, and checking in on things. I was a super good boy.

Weekend with Mom and Dad

I am really happy to spend time with Mom and Dad on the weekends. I like them to be around me at all times, and pull them around by their index fingers. We had fun yesterday at Studio Grow and then a party at Coen's house. Last night I had to sleep with Dad because I just needed some snuggle! My new sunglasses are really pretty.

This humidity is doing wonders for my hair! My curls are super fresh. Things are going well; my cough has abated but I'm still drooling like crazy because I have lots of teeth coming in. I'm saying a lot of words, and I like to say "iloveyoucooooen" and "mommycar. key" and "raisin" and "ga-lasses" and "itchy" and "lotion" and "cream". I like to push mom's buttons but I sure do love her and daddy.

This is what I'm up to these days. I now take only one short nap a day- less than an hour- so Mom and Dad get ALL day with me, pretty much! It's awesome. I am repeating lots of words and reading my books. Here's a shot of me and Lucy from Tahoe (from last month).

vacation..,. sort of

I flew with ama and grandpa to their house on Tuesday. When I got off the plane and mom saw me, she thought I looked sort of rosy. Turned out I had a fever! I got super sick and the next night I was screaming and feeling really owie. Grandpa and Mommy took me to the urgent care, and they said I had a virus. Today is the first day I don't have a fever, I have been sleeping a lot. I want to show Ian my bike when I get up from my nap and Grandpa Mansour is coming too.

at the discovery museum

We went to the Discovery Museum this weekend. Andrea met us there and gave me a cute horse and some jammies! I had the best time ever. I liked walking around holding drumsticks, and playing with mom in the clay-type-stuff. We had great fun.

It's July

Things are going okay here. I have been so busy, as usual. Eating takes a lot of my time, and running around works up an appetite! Last night with Daddy I ate a whole jar of mango. Mama was afraid I would get a tummy ache but here I am, no tummy ache.

I appear to still have some teeth coming in and I've been quite a handful. Mom and Dad love me a lot but are both really glad they work full time.

My aunt and uncle moved into our neighborhood (sort of) and I am excited to spend time with them at their new crib and the parks nearby.

Big boy

Mama and Daddy have been noticing that I am really turning into a toddler! Not only can I sort of run, but I am getting fat. My belly is fat, and my face is getting rounder and I'm getting some chunky in my legs. I am overdue for a "growth spurt". But I'm so cute! I have crazy hair when I wake up just like Daddy's.

I have been learning a little bit about the color "yellow", which I say very well, and also about airplanes. Please read me my "Planes" book over and over. And over.

I also can say "Coen" now, and "Henry" (enny), and "Flower" (not very well; sometimes sounds like "yellow" or even "ball") but my favorite words are "bike", "car", "cat" "Bottle" and "water". Some things never change, I guess.

Sick tummy

Mom picked me up and we went to Whole Foods to get some swordfish kabobs to grill. When we came home, I was eating dinner, but all of a sudden I threw up everywhere! Lots and lots of food. It made me cry so hard. We took a bath and I felt better, but then I had some milk and let's just say I had to have another bath. It really made me feel crappy and my tummy was real firm and yucky.

walking is fun

I feel so powerful and strong! I love to walk around on the new sandals that Mom and Dad got for me, and sometimes I put socks on with them too. My aunt and uncle are visiting. My uncle Erik does funny dancing and it makes me laugh! A lot!

My mom got me off my first bottle. I'm not napping too much these days.

So much more fun and new adventures

Last weekend, Mom, Dad and I went up to Cazadero for Memorial Day. Our friends Jason, Kyra and Coen came up for one night. We had a good time! Jason pulled us in the wagon, and mom and dad took me to the beach and the river. Dad is in Denver right now and I really miss him. Why isn't he coming through the door?!!

what a week!

I fell down the stairs this week and also fell out of the bathtub onto my head. Coen was out of town but now he's back. Dad is sick again! we are headed to Sonoma (wherever that is) tomorrow for a family weekend.

364 days

I've been on this earth. It's hard to believe! I can't even count to 1. I took 24 steps today though, so Mom says. I fall down and I get up, and I fall down and I get up, all with a big grin on my face! I'm my mom and dad's best boy.

Mom came back last night and when I saw her this morning I did my shy face! we played a little and I really like small household appliances, like her hair dryer and also her hair brushes.

Saturday, I'm napping

Mom and I went to the park again this morning, but unfortunately the resolution on Mom's camera got reset so this picture isn't clear when you blow it up. Anyway, I'm taking a nap and then Dad, Mom and I are headed to Tammy's house in Dublin for a couple of hours this afternoon. I'm hoping we might see Uncle Cyrus and Aunt Lili, too.

Friday, I'm napping

Mom is taking a day off today and we went to the park this morning. This isn't the best picture of me with her new phone but it's better than nothing. We went with Jason and Coen and I got so dirty and sandy! Mom is cleaning the house now, and she's going to take me to Henry's later so SHE gets some play time. I really had fun on the swing this morning and had a lot of blackberries (my FAVORITE).

my little baby

Mama's camera is broken and also her phone-- so no pics. But I am up to lots of funny stuff. My little baby doll "baby" is so fun... I like to put him in my Tonka truck and wheel him around (or at least Mama does it for me). I stick my fingers in his eyes and say "baba" (instead of "baby"). I am in a crushy mom stage and act real super weird and hyper and cry and dance when she comes home, because I missed her a lot during the day.

My dad put his new glasses on today and it was super confusing. he put them on my face, though, and that was really funny. Wearing adult glasses is one of the funniest things ever!!

A little sick but I had fun anyway.

Mama and I both have a yucky cold. When I sneeze, big strings of snot go everywhere but then I hate when Mama wipes my face! Dada is in Chicago and so Mama and I did a lot today. We went to the store, then we went to the park with Aunt Lili and Uncle Cyrus, and then later we went out for ANOTHER walk to get Mama her Indian food fix.

I said "ow" when I was mimicking Mama today and it was really cute.

I'm sleeping now, sucking on one of my little animals. XO

You can't always get what you want

but sometimes you might find you get what you need.

So much excitement, and so little time.

Where to begin? The last month was a whirlwind. Highlights included: a trip to see friends in NC; two visits to the Discovery Museum; a trip to the zoo; more teeth (and some tears); Mom's work trip (again); and more showmanship on my part. PLUS some time with the Farhang relatives.

I am certainly growing to be a big big boy! Sometimes I say "hi", and sometimes "mama" or jumbled baby talk. I really know how to throw a tantrum now, especially when I want electronics that I can't have. I take a few steps here in there, but on my own terms, when I am pushing a chair, etc.

ma ma da da

Sometimes when Mom wants me to say "ma ma" I say "da da" and when Dad wants me to say "da da" I say "ma ma". It's real cute and my parents focus a lot on trying to get me to make these sounds for some reason. Our friend Peter brought me some great books and a couple of toys today! This big top is super cool. I can't wait to start plowing through the books, too.

Back to the grind

Well, it's Monday, and it's business as usual here in the 'hood. I was off to Coen's this morning after a robust breakfast of yogurt, more yogurt, and fresh fruits. Coen is going to be gone the rest of the week so it's me and Dawa 'til Friday.

Let the good times roll

I'm feeling good today even though I was up crying last night. Dad brought me into bed and helped me sleep. Mom got fed up! We are having brunch with a friend today. We went to the Discovery Museum yesterday and it was awesome. Mom got us a family membership so we can go back a lot in the next year (pictures posted later).

Pops and Grandma!

My grandma and pops are in town. While I have had a terrible cough, otherwise I have been on my best behavior and showing off quite a bit. I have been throwing my hands up in the air, also clapping a lot, and smiling so that I can remain the center of attention.
Yesterday I said "bye bye Dada!" but I am not sure what I said, or who I said it to. Mom and Dad went out on a dinner date and grandma and pops put me to bed. They are SO fun!!

busy, busy, busy

Sorry, everybody. I have been so busy that it's hard to find time to update my blog, what with all the playing, sleeping, and eating that I do. My mom needs to give me some down time!

I was pretty cheerful this weekend. Saturday we went on a walk and had some brunch (see picture with Dad). Yesterday Aunt Lili and Uncle Cyrus babysat me while Mom and Dad went to see "Milk" and got some ice cream. We had a good time. I'm quite resourceful at playing and entertaining myself but someone needs to be there at all times to make sure I don't hurt myself.

Why oh why?

Why won't the kitty let me play with her? I like her so much and she makes me smile. I tear off to chase her but she always eludes me.

Back from Sac

Mom came through on her way back from Tahoe and hung out with us a bit at Uncle Marc's house. We went to the park and I really liked the swing (Marc took this picture of me)!

Mom is having trouble sleeping. I hope she catches some zzzs tonight. I sucked on my blue puppy's ear and I fell fast asleep. Maybe she should try that?

Boys' weekend

Today Mom headed to Tahoe before dawn for girls' weekend, and Dad and I got in the car later to head to Uncle Marc's in Sacramento. We are playing, and going to the park. It's so fun to have just boys' weekend! My tummy virus is better, and even though Mom still doesn't feel too good, she's getting better too.

Weekend: sick to better

I had my first real fever on Friday night. I cried a lot during the night. I'm really feeling better, though. Maybe because my aunt Lili gave me some ice cream yesterday! I agree with my mom that it makes everything better.

Today we're just doing stuff around the house. I helped my mom at Berkeley Bowl by holding onto this packet of miso soup. Dad Mom and I also went to Rick & Ann's for breakfast. I was a good boy.

Whew! what a week. It's Friday at last... a rainy day. We need the rain bad, that's what Mom says. I was feeling cooped up but heading to Studio Grow today with Henry and Dawa. I listen so attentively during story time (or so Dawa says...) and love to clap during music hour.

I've been having lots of fun splashing in the bath. Mom and Dad get all wet!!!!

Exploring

I'm getting more and more curious about my surroundings. Everything is so interesting! I'm also crying hard-- and for a while, even after the incident has really passed-- when I don't get what I want. I am one willful dude.
